How ordering works
Bountiful Food Delivery is a delivery service. We do not cook, prepare, package or label any food. Every item we hand you was made, baked, grown or packed by a separate local business, and we buy it from them on your behalf.
Sending the order form is a request, not a purchase. It does not create an order or a contract. Here is the actual sequence:
- You send us your order. The website prepares an email in your own mail app — nothing is submitted to us automatically, and no payment details are ever collected on this site.
- We reply with the food cost, any delivery fee, the run date, and a payment link.
- You approve it and pay. Only at that point does an order exist.
- We buy from the supplying business and bring it to your delivery stop.
We may decline an order — for example if a supplier can't fill it, the quantity isn't workable for a scheduled run, or the stop is outside our route. If we decline before you have paid, nothing is owed by either of us.
If a supplier is out of something after you have paid, we contact you. We do not substitute a different product silently.
What we won't carry: alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and vaping products, prescription or restricted medication, and anything else that needs a licence we don't hold or that can't legally travel in a shared delivery run. If you ask for one of these, we'll say no rather than pretend otherwise.
Prices, fees and tax
Menu prices cover the food only. They exclude delivery and any applicable tax.
Delivery is quoted per stop and always shown to you separately from the food, before you pay. We keep the two apart deliberately, so the delivery fee is never quietly folded into the food price.
Tax treatment depends on what you order. In Canada, basic groceries are generally zero-rated for GST while prepared and restaurant-type food generally is not, so the correct tax on an order depends on the specific items in it. Rather than guess on this page, we state the exact tax on your quote before you pay.
Prices shown on this site can change when a supplier's price changes. The price that counts is the one on the quote we send you.
Allergens and food safety
We do not make the food, so we cannot vouch for what is in it. Please read this section if anyone eating has an allergy or intolerance.
All ingredient, allergen, storage and cooking information comes from the business that made the food. We pass it to you unchanged. We do not add to it, interpret it, or verify it independently.
Nothing we deliver should be treated as allergen-free or free from cross-contact. The kitchens and facilities we buy from are shared environments, and a supplier can change a recipe or an ingredient supplier without telling us.
If you have an allergy: put it in your order notes, wait for the current supplier's ingredient and cross-contact information, and make your own decision before you pay. If you do not receive information you are satisfied with, do not order. We would far rather lose the sale.
Food is carried on a scheduled road run between the supplier and your delivery stop. Treat anything chilled or frozen as needing your attention on arrival: refrigerate or freeze it promptly, and follow the supplier's label for cooking times and temperatures. Cook to a safe internal temperature — appliances and batches vary, so times on a label are guidance rather than a guarantee.
Only the supplying business's own staff, or someone we've confirmed is authorised to carry food safely, ever handles your order between the kitchen and you.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Before we have bought your food — change or cancel for any reason and get a full refund of anything you have paid. Just tell us.
After we have bought your food — a local business has already been paid for it, so the food cost may not be refundable. Where we can resell or reallocate an item we will, and we will refund what we recover. Any delivery fee for a run that has not happened yet is always refunded.
If you aren't there for a delivery — contact us and we will try to arrange the next run. Perishable food that has been out of temperature control cannot be re-delivered, for the same safety reasons above.
If something is wrong — wrong item, short count, damaged or below standard on arrival — tell us as soon as you can and, where it is safe to do so, keep the item and send a photo. We will refund, replace on the next run, or take it up with the supplier, and we will tell you which. We do not make you fight for this.
If we cancel or delay a run — weather, a closed highway or a supplier falling through can force us to push a run back or cancel it. If you haven't paid yet, nothing is owed. If you have, we move you to the next run at no extra cost, or refund you in full if that doesn't work for you — your choice.
Your personal information
We ask for the least we can: your name, email and phone, plus a delivery address and route stop. Optional notes and business requests are whatever you choose to write.
This website has no server and no database. When you submit the order form, the site composes an email in your own mail application and hands it to you. Nothing is transmitted to us until you press send in your own mail app. That also means we cannot see abandoned or half-filled orders.
Once you send it, we hold your order as ordinary email. We use it to quote, fulfil and follow up on your order, and to keep the records a business is expected to keep. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.
We pass a supplying business only what they need to fill the order — usually quantities, and your name or a delivery detail where a handoff requires it. We do not hand over your contact details for their own marketing.
We run no advertising, analytics or tracking on this site, and no third-party script, font or cookie loads on it. Our web host keeps the ordinary server request logs any host does — the kind that record an IP address and a timestamp for security and uptime — but we do not add anything of our own on top of that.
Payment. No payment provider is connected yet, because no order has been taken for money. Before the first paid order goes out, this paragraph will name the processor we use, and say plainly what it collects from you and where that data goes — the same standard we hold every other claim on this page to.
How long we keep it. We keep order emails for as long as Canadian tax law expects a business to retain its records — six years — and delete or anonymise anything older that we no longer need. If you ask us to delete your details sooner and there's no legal reason to keep them, we will.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it, and we will. Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA federally, and the Personal Information Protection Act in British Columbia — gives you those rights, and we would honour them regardless. Send that request to our order inbox and expect a reply within five business days.
What this website stores on your device
One thing: your cart. It is kept in your browser's own local storage under the name bountiful-cart-v1 so that your order survives a page refresh. It never leaves your device and we never see it.
Clearing your browser's site data for this site removes it. There are no cookies, no tracking pixels, no session identifiers and no third-party storage — which is why you will not find a cookie banner here.
Accessibility
We build this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA: it works with a keyboard alone, keeps text and focus indicators at or above the contrast the standard requires, respects a reduced-motion setting, uses real form labels and announces form errors to screen readers. That is checked with automated tools and manual keyboard testing on every change, not a full third-party audit with assistive technology, so treat it as our target and our practice rather than a certified claim.
If something here blocks you, tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will happily take your order however suits you.
Who you're buying from
This section is not yet complete. Bountiful Food Delivery's registered business name, entity type and GST/HST number belong here once the business is formally registered. We would rather show that gap plainly than invent a registration that doesn't exist yet.
Contact and complaints
Email is the fastest route: our order inbox. Tell us what happened and what you would like done about it. We answer complaints ourselves rather than routing them into a queue.
This page describes how we actually operate, in plain language. It is general information about our own service, not legal advice, and it does not take away any right you have under Canadian or British Columbia consumer and privacy law.
